The delegation was given a hands-on experience of the Italian recreational boating sector and its world-renowned expertise, thanks to the presentations of some of the sector’s leading names: F.lli Razeto&Casareto, AB Volvo Penta, Marina di Loano, Veleria San Giorgio, Gianneschi Pumps and Blowers.
The Foreign Media Tour is part of a plan for the promotion and support of the Italian boating industry as promoted by UCINA with the aid of the Italian Ministry for Economic Development and of the ITA, a plan which will be enacted through an articulate support programme for businesses, culminating with the 58th Genoa International Boat Show, taking place from 20th to 25th this coming September.
“The Genoa International Boat Show is the Italian industry’s flagship event – commented Ferdinando Pastore, Director of the Office for Industrial Technology, Energy and Environment at the Italian Trade Agency – In order to give the foreign sector-specific press a taste of what the shipyards and businesses in the Italian boating sector have to offer, the ITA, aided by UCINA, have put together a series of tours for a delegation of international reporters, of the boating districts of Liguria and Tuscany.
“The Foreign Media Tour is part of a programme of events that will lead up to the Genoa International Boat Show, the only Italian show to be listed on the international fair calendar” – stated Marina Stella, Director-General of UCINA, Italian Marine Industry Association.
“The Made in Italy Plan will see a full line-up of events leading up to the Genoa Boat Show, with headlines across foreign media, aimed to coincide with the leading foreign boat shows in which UCINA and the Genoa Boat Show have taken part: the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, METS in Amsterdam, BOOT in Düsseldorf, the Dubai International Boat Show. The support from the Made in Italy Plan and the aid from the Ministry for Economic Development and the Italian Trade Agency are a well-earned reward for the Genoa International Boat Show, which last edition boasted record numbers on the rise: 148,288 visitors, 884 brands, more than 1,000 boats on display and 32 countries represented”.
